Oz, Mortal Flesh, Jan Hagel

https://youtu.be/RrCRJBd3vkQ

Jan Hagel
1 cup butter
1 cup sugar
1 egg—separated
2 cups flour
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1 T water
1/2 cup finely chopped walnuts or pecans
Heat oven to 350 degrees. Lightly grease jelly roll pan (15×10-ish for crisp cookies, large cake pan for thicker ones.) Mix butter, sugar, egg yolk. Blend sifted flour and cinnamon, stir into butter mixture and pat in pan. Beat water and egg white until frothy, brush over dough, sprinkle with nuts. Bake 20-25 minutes until very lightly browned. Cut IMMEDIATELY (all caps means this is vital).

Merry Christmas! God become man is proof that hate and evil never win.

  1. Hmm, never made these. I wonder if it would work with gluten free flour. I hate to spend money on ingredients then have baked goods fail. It seems to happen more often these days. Merry Christmas Anita.

    1. Ha. We count on computers to save the world and they can’t even tell time. I may have made Jan Hagel once with gluten free four. I don’t remember them not tasting good but I think you want a better endorsement before you buy that ridiculously pricey butter!
Merry Christmas to you and your loved ones!

  2. My Christmas baking is done, but I’m thinking I need to.make these!
